Reconstructing the Face of Nyack

Nyack has been undergoing a major facelift over the past few months.

New sidewalks, new layout, and of course new business in tow.

There have been all sorts of rumors of which businesses are coming to Nyack.

Here is the Short List:

 Reconstructing the Face of Nyack

IN THE SPACE WHERE VERTIGO’S CARCASE NOW LIES, we heard Carmine’s of

New York City Fame was in talks to take over. Then we heard that BLACKBEAR’S

ugly sister THE THIRSTY TURTLE was coming in.

NOW we hear that another unnamed bar dead set on putting the POURHOUSE

out of business is slated to set up shop inside VERTIGO’S hull.

POURHOUSE has famously stopped traffic at BLACKBEAR, CASA, O’MALLEY’S,

and the now defunct BRUXELLE’S.

Speaking of BRUXELLE’S we heard a steakhouse was going to set up camp in that

space. Now the rumor on the street is THE PEARL RIVER SALOON is going to

put in THE NYACK SALOON at BRUXELLE’S old place. At least they will have

parking for that outrageous rent.

BAUMBERGER’S chinese buffet is almost complete. By Fall 2011 expect an new

overpriced restaurant with tailormade portions to open for business across

from the presently-for-sale O’Donahue’s (O’D's is Nyack’s oldest bar and family

run since 1964) Bar and Restaurant.

If that is not enough scoop, there is more. The Old Woolworth’s Building is under

renovation as I write this. Half of the first floor is already designated to be a

Greek Restaurant.

So Nyack’s new facelift should be up and operational by January 2012. But

according to the surgeon’s, Nyack is already complaining that she needs a new

nosejob!! Before the end of 2012 she wants a surgery called “THE SUPERBLOCK”.

Oy vey Nyack!! If only you had some Municipal Parking all this surgery business

would be put to rest. Reconstructing the Face of Nyack
